Lindey's
A true German Village classic, and where Sam's parents met! 😊 Lindey's patio is a must-do during any Columbus summer and we recommend the same for our travelling guests! Lindey's has consistently been voted one of Columbus' best restaurants and is one of Sam and Ryan's favorite spots.
Sycamore
A European-inspired cafe, Sycamore is a neighborhood gathering place housed inside a historic brick building serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Stop by for a pastry and an espresso while on a morning stroll through the Village, or enjoy an evening cocktail and appetizer on their quaint patio. Sycamore's menu is always changing and features local and sustainably sourced ingredients. It is one of our absolute favorites and almost always answers the question of "where should we go to dinner?" And, their bar is always open!
This would be a great place to eat Friday before the Welcome Dinner! It is only a 7-minute walk to our Welcome Party at the Kitchen!
Cento
Named as a tribute to Cameron Mitchell's 100th restaurant, Cento is a stylish Italian restaurant serving upscale dishes featuring homemade pastas, and an extensive wine list. Boasting another beautiful patio, Cento is one of our favorite places to help us celebrate big milestones! You cannot miss the calamari and the tiramisu.
Another great place to go for dinner before the Welcome Party! Just an 8-minute walk away from the Kitchen!
Speck Italian Eatery
A modern Italian restaurant with a thoughtfully curated menu highlighting its fresh made pasta dishes, Speck is one of our favorite dinner spots, and Sam is a frequent-flyer for lunch. It's warm and cozy ambiance and inviting menu make you feel like you have stepped out of Columbus for a special night out.
Just a short 5-minute walk from the LeVeque and the Renaissance!
Club 185
A true neighborhood watering hole that has been serving German Village since 1954, when it was known as a local "speak-easy." The Club features a menu of cheap, quality, casual comfort food and a full bar. You cannot go wrong with their $5 burger!
Just one minute away from our Welcome Party! They do not take reservations, so get here early and snag your table fast!
Northstar Café
One of Columbus' best-known local restaurant groups, popular for its fresh, health-conscious comfort food, bright and airy modern interiors, organic and locally sourced ingredients, as well as strong vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. Home to Sam's favorite salad - the Village - and their freshly squeezed orange juice is a must try!
Pistacia Vera
One of Columbus’s most beloved bakeries and cafés, located in the heart of German Village inside a beautifully restored historic brick building. It’s especially famous for French-style pastries, colorful macarons, elegant desserts, and carefully crafted coffee drinks. The atmosphere is refined but cozy, and is their quaint patio is the perfect place to enjoy a cappuccino and a croissant.
Fox in the Snow Café
A Brooklyn-inspired bakery and coffee shop, Fox in the Snow is a modern take on the classic coffeehouse. With tons of natural light, plants, open kitchens, and minimalist interiors, the atmosphere is warm and inviting without being dark. It is famous for its egg sandwich!
The Book Loft
The Book Loft is a sprawling independent bookstore tucked into the brick-lined streets of German Village. It feels less like a normal bookstore and more like a maze built for book lovers. The store stretches through interconnected pre-Civil War buildings and contains 32 rooms linked by narrow hallways, staircases, hidden corners, and winding passages. One of our favorite places for gifts, great reads, or to just pop in and roam within the labyrinth of books!
